On October 6, 2026 Mistral released Mistral Large 4 (mistral-large-4) in public preview. Their changelog lists "Launch pricing: 50% off for 2 weeks" and says open weights are coming soon.

Steps
In your existing Mistral call, change the model name to mistral-large-4.
Run your usual prompts against it and compare the answers and the cost with the model you use now.
Put a reminder in your calendar for the end of the discount. Two weeks from October 6 is about October 20, 2026. After that the model is billed at its full price, so check the pricing page before leaving it switched on.
Test it
Send one request with model set to mistral-large-4 and confirm the reply names that model in its response.
Not confirmed
Mistral's changelog says "2 weeks" and gives no end date. October 20 is two weeks counted from the October 6 launch.
It is a public preview, so behaviour and pricing can still change.
