What you get
On October 16, 2026 OpenAI added Ultrafast mode to the Agents API. Set agent.service_tier to ultrafast with a supported model to cut the time between generated tokens.
OpenAI-hosted sandboxes in the Agents API now also include the Artifact SDK and skills for creating and editing spreadsheets, presentations and Word documents.

agent.service_tiertoultrafaston your agent. - To make documents, run the agent in an OpenAI-hosted sandbox.
Test it
Run the same agent task with and without Ultrafast mode and compare how fast the reply streams.
