What you get
Since October 21, 2026 the Runway API can use Nano Banana 2 Lite, model gemini_image3.1_flash_lite, on the text to image endpoint.

Prerequisites
- A Runway developer account with credits added in the Billing tab
- A Runway API secret in
RUNWAYML_API_SECRET
Steps
- Call the text to image endpoint as you do for other Runway image models.
- Set
modeltogemini_image3.1_flash_lite. - Write your prompt, and add reference images if you want an edit.
- Set
outputCountto 1 or 4.
Test it
Send one text to image request with model set to gemini_image3.1_flash_lite, outputCount set to 1 and a short prompt. Wait for the task to finish and you should get one image URL. Your balance should drop by 4 credits.

- The changelog does not list the ten allowed
